The Yellow Ones took an early lead through Ahmet Cihanyandi who was on hand to turn in his strike partner Ahmet Topal’s cross on 9 minutes. Cihanyandi had the ball in the net again in the 20th minute but the referee first gave the goal but then ruled it out for a ‘foul’ on the Karadeniz goalkeeper.
Yalova did double their lead on 37 minutes with Topal rifling in a half volley from Corey Whitely’s freekick, but the home team pulled one back just before half-time. A free-kick from the right was headed in at the far post and the significance of this strike was further emphasized when Karadeniz leveled from another free-kick just after the break.
