CupGavin Hawkes bagged a brace as Yalova beat London Santos 5-0 to progress into the semi-finals of the Federation Cup.

Captain Hakan Guzel opened the scoring in the 2nd minute.  The winger’s cross-come-shot was misjudged by the Santos goalkeeper and found its way into the back of the net.

In the half-hour that followed, the home team became complacent and had to survive a couple of nervy moments before Gavin doubled the lead.  The striker controlled, found a yard of space and dispatched his shot into the top corner.

Just two minutes later, his strike partner Ahmet Cihanyandi extended the deficit turning the ball in at the third attempt after previous two attempts hit the post and came back off the keeper.

Yalova were more controlled in the second-half, giving little away defensively and adding two more goals through David Smiley’s header on 62 and Gavin’s right foot shot on 67.

The semi-final draw will include Fanatics who beat Wembley Park 7-3 and the winners of Park View/Birkbeck College and Blind Beggars/Clap Ham United who play their ties next week.
